Love this place. Rooms are small but classy in an all wood finish. Shower was open and had cool pebble floor. Cant beat the views, location and staff. A real gem.

Stayed one night, August 2025 with a family of four traveling to Manitoulin. Very nice motel in the heart of Tobermory, overlooking the harbour and ferry, but quite pricey. Nice decor in the rooms and well maintained.

What a wonderful few days spent in Tobermory! The Blue Bay Motel was fantastic. Great staff! Great location! Great stay! Highly recommended! Blue Bay motel is close to all amenities and all within walking distance. We parked our vehicle at the hotel when we got there and it didn’t move until we left. Thanks for the stay, we enjoyed our visit. Craig + Sue

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Amanjot at this hotel absolutely deserves recognition. From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond in every possible way. She didn’t just provide service – she provided genuine care.
What impressed me the most was her attentiveness and dedication. No matter how small my request was, Amanjot handled it with patience, kindness, and professionalism. She anticipated needs before I even mentioned them, solved problems instantly, and always greeted me with a warm smile that made me feel valued as a guest.
It is very rare to meet someone in hospitality who truly makes you feel like family, and Amanjot did exactly that. Her passion for guest satisfaction shows in everything she does, and it turned what could have been an ordinary stay into something unforgettable.
I sincerely believe that Amanjot is an exceptional asset to this hotel. She has the rare ability to elevate the entire guest experience singlehandedly, and I have no doubt she is ready for even greater responsibilities. This is a good motel for the area. The rooms, while showing their age, are thoughtfully appointed with things like coffee maker, hair dryer, fridge, popcorn, smart TV, etc. Beds are comfortable and the room was clean. While it's quiet outside at night, you do hear the upstairs occupants' steps and movements quite clearly in the 1st floor rooms. My "big" concern was that there is no deadbolt on the doors and only a flimsy chain in addition to the knob lock.

We stayed here for past 3 days. Great location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The weather wasn't the best but the motel provided us with umbrellas, which was greatly appreciated. Nice extra touches in the room as well with chocolates and popcorn. The balcony outside our room was nice to sit in and enjoy the view. Bathroom is small but has everything you need. We would certainly book here again.

Glad that my husband and I chose to stay here. The room cleanliness exceeded my expectation and basic convenience are thoughtfully provided like the tea/coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave and ice maker. The bed is so comfortable and the room, spacious. It can get really hot and humid during the summer months but thankfully, ceiling and standing fans are provided in all rooms. Checking in and out was fuss free and efficient. When we arrived, our room was ready with the fans switched on to cool off the summer heat. That was really thoughtful. We had a pleasant stay and will return to Blue Bay if we visit Tobermory again.

We stayed at the Blue Bay Motel for 3 days.
The location is awesome. Its right downtown, looks over the water. Walking distance from restaurants, shopping, Blue Heron cruises etc. Very quiet, sufficient parking when we visited.
Room was spacious, very clean, great bathroom sink. Enjoyed the fan in the room as well as the standing fan on warm nights. Our daughter loved the popcorn and the chocolates left as compliments. Used the room fridge the whole time and appreciated the access to microwave.
Couple observations: Walls are thin, you can hear your neighbours, toilet is small, spare bed was quite creaky, windows are quite old and doesnt seal off fully, not enough space for hanging jackets and towels. Perhaps they could add a few more hooks/ hanging rods. The building could use a face lift to not give the impression of an old place. The rooms actually are quite nice.
